italian producer simone fedi, hailing from tuscany, takes things to a whole new level on this third release on eskimo recordings. >bitter devotion< is a vocal pop gem with a balearic tinge, but its bittersweet vocals and the addictive melody will haunt you. for this tune fedi, a multi-instrumentalist with a knack for pop music and a soft spot for vintage gear, joined forces with a mysterious singer named lola rent, and this turns out to be a winning team.
bitter devotion comes with a rather spectacular remix package, ewan pearson (known from his remix work for goldfrapp, chemical brothers, hot chip, moby, franz ferdinand and depeche mode to name a few) gave it the royal treatment. as an additional treat, welcome stranger aka thomas bullock (rub n tug, laughing light of plenty, map of africa, whatever we want records) has indulged in a psychedelic >bitter devotion< dub, analogue and live... just the way we like it.

here comes, well, certainly not the record to turn your party upside down. the first lurker release brings two raw and sluggish instrumental rides through deep slowmotion territory. young talent babok shows us how to move that midnineties downbeat spirit into an adequate place for 2011, his mysterious djurh combines a strongly fragmented rhythm section and a distracted piano from somwhere below.
on small window, nic & jaq manage to hold the balance between early fall romantics and mid winter darkness,reaching the goosebump-o-meter s full scale with an intense samplesound and a thick drumset.

the mysterious rod enterns the balans arena with an uncompromising, abstract techno affair. little can we tell you about this mysterious character. only that a famous dj from rodterdam is behind this alter ego and that he did a very well received ep on ben klocks klockworks earlier this year.
the music coming from this persona is one hundred percent puristic, stripped down, dj tool techno. with a capital t you have seen that right! no nonsense hypnotism as we rarely see it nowadays. three or four sounds per track, each pushed and stretched inside out for maximum result. these tunes are made for dark, strobe lid cellars or underground techno temples such as berghain.
techno is back and this is about as abstract and underground as it gets. we look forward to release more rod records in the future.

container is a recent moniker of nashville, tennessee resident ren schofield who has been actively shifting about the u.s. playing shows and releasing cassettes on his mysterious i just live here imprint for a long while now. known primarily for his god willing project, a disjointed, confusing, maze of crude oscillator, tape, and guitar, ren has established himself as a staple in the east coast underground.

for alec koone, the 20 year old, pennsylvania resident, who was 19 and based in new york at the time of his first release, >wander / wonder< is a coming of age album that sees him expand upon the unique sound that attracted him so much attention to begin with. in koone s own words: it s an open ended album, and i think individuals should make their own meaning of it so that it is something actually real to them. it s not classical music, but in the tradition of a classical work like a bach cello suite, i see it as more of a whole musical piece with themes/motifs/ideas reoccurring throughout, connecting the tracks together as opposed to simply being a collection of songs that sit next to each other in isolation. it s also an album that should be listened to loudly. wander / wonder is a mysterious and genuinely haunting record that seems to exist in a world all of it s own making, balanced between the ecstatic wonder referenced in the title and something altogether more indefinable and uncertain of itself, like shards of light flickering through a blanket of fog, and even though wander / wonder is undeniably an electronic album, it feels strangely organic, rooted in nature, synthetic textures and distorted voices harmonizing with an ever present oceanic shimmer. wander / wonder was written and produced by alec koone in new york and pennsylvania. mixed by alec koone and sam haar (member of blondes) in new york city.

everything is in solution. no more here, no more when - the sounds loosing their way while creating something new and mysterious. waterkristallen is a transparent and absolute haunting track from arjuna schiks which will be released on einmusika records at the end of july. its a deep and tech influenced number with dizzying atmospheric parts and a lot of power on the other sight - its a dancefloor-number detached from the seasons. arjuna schiks was inspired by new age, meditation and world music, a hippie-child from amsterdam - that is what you can also hear in his productions one more day and my cup of tea. they are so strong and free - good vibes for your soul and precious diamonds for the clubs. once again einmusik is preparing the stage for a young and great producer and it is not supposed to be a short-time collab.

akiko kiyama finally returns to tokyos op.disc imprint after 5 years of absence. compared with her split / collabolation 12inch released in 2006, her unique style developed in such a fine style. her liquid sound and sensitive ways of putting layers are even more blushed and combined with heavy, wild bass grooves. a1 the duplicated man will fold you in her world of dark and mysterious phrases, while a2 speak bubble develops dubby, minimal soundscapes. b1 maggio is a brilliant long groovy tune - mystic whistle of a bird and emotional melodies and raw percussions evokes images of argentina tango raw percussion. enjoy mysterious sound !

support by richie hawtin, m.a.n.d.y., andreas henneberg, kombinat100 and many more. featuring deep atmospheres and altogether slightly more electronic rhythms, the second part of the catchpenny & cosmos series rounds this double release off by an even greater variety of sound. just like its name implies, the dark tower hotel is a wondrous and mysterious place. upon intricate double bass chords and trippy synthesizer riffs, female singing from times long gone mixes elegantly into the hypnotic arrangement like a melodic leitmotif. in his remix, mollono.bass lives up to the last four letters of his name and delivers a rolling groove. the jaeger gains experience with acid, at least during the second part of this title which distinguishes itself by a minimal character and enigmatic wind instrument sounds. last but not least there is morgiana , a laid-back song that does not aim the dance floor. its catchy gypsy vibe, created by lots of classical instruments, reflects the remarkable compositional talent of be svendsen in a very entertaining way.
